Every year in August the planes take to the skies over Atlantic City and the crowds flock to the beach and boardwalk for the Atlantic City Air Show. Known as Thunder Over The Boardwalk, the 2017 edition will mark the 15th consecutive year that the air show has graced the skies over the most famous boardwalk in the world.
This year’s show includes the Air Force’s Thunderbirds, the most famous aerial exhibition team on the planet. Other performers will include the Army Golden Knight Parachute team and the Geico Skytypers. Other historic aircraft, acrobatic teams and fighter planes are sure to dazzle the crowd.
The event is free and is viewable from all the city beaches and many of the neighboring beaches. The boardwalk is also prime viewing as well as various hotel rooms, pool decks, balconies and just about anywhere else in Atlantic City.
